6 Simple Beach Essentials
Packing up for the day on the beach? Heading out to enjoy poolside? Or a day boating on the lake? Finding the right items to cart to the water and stow in your tote is kinda high on the priority list (ahem SPF). I’ve rounded up everything you’ll need on a budget for some summer fun by the water minus wifi. Don’t forget to pack these must-haves.
Sunscreen is non-negotiable. And kinda a no brainer. With skin cancer on the rise, the importance of application and reapplication is essential. I found an organic all natural spray on sunscreen that’s easy for two reasons (1) to toss into my purse for travel and (2) reapply on top of makeup throughout the day. The Soleil Toujours sunscreen is especially water resistant and suited for sensitive skin. Most folks don’t know that SPF stands for sun protection factor meaning it’s a measure of how long the sun will protect you from ultraviolet UV rays. Reapply, reapply, reapply. SkinCeuticals has a great water resistant sunscreen and SuperGoop SPF 50 spray is another great option. Beyond sunscreen, carrying a hat along should be a cardinal rule during summer time. Sunscreen can protect your face and body but hats protect your scalp and cut down the rays on your face.
Every summer beach bag needs to be able to carry the essentials, is durable, and being cute doesn’t hurt. I went with Clare V tote but for those on a budget, I'd recommend these options below.
Books & magazines are much easier to conquer by the pool or at the beach. This summer I’ve picked up Flutter Magazine a bridal magazine my good friend Torrey recently introduced to me. It’s filled with inspiration and advice on all things wedding, styling, and events. It’s one of those quality pieces of work that makes you flutter.
Round towels are really in the limelight at the moment. They are perfect for a play area for the little ones or a great space for group lounging on the beach. If you are by the pool, these striped classic ones are perfect plus you can buy in bundle in amazon ($18.99).
Most folks think flip flops for summertime but I’m more of a sandals gal especially perfect to get you from the sandy beach to a beach front view dinner. Alright enough from my perspective. Minus the wifi what do you find on your essential summer by the water list?
